Welcome to the Rhone Alps!! Upon arrival into Paris, take a TGV (2 hours) to Lyon – capital of Gastronomy. It’s time to explore the city today armed with your Lyon card. It’s by far the best way to see the city. A recommendation is also the Tête d’Or Park, its zoo and many attractions, City Aventure and Fourvière Aventures acrobatic parks, Grand Lyon Aquarium, the large safari parks and zoos, and the Domaine de Lacroix Laval park are all highly appreciated play and discovery areas particularly if you have children with you. Else you could also take a walk through the traboule alleyways or in the tiers of the antique theatres, a boat trip or a visit to the silk workshops – all original and amusing opportunities to discover Lyon’s history and heritage! Following breakfast this morning it’s time for you to indulge in some real time shopping or even some window shopping….Shopping in Lyon is an easy pleasure, part of the city’s art of living. The Carré d’Or district will keep the most exacting shoppers happy with more than 70 luxury banners concentrated in an area where it is pleasant to stroll, between Place Bellecour and Cordeliers. You will find one of the largest pedestrian thoroughfares in Europe, stretching across the entire Presqu’île, by Rue Victor Hugo and Rue de la République, where the majority of franchised stores can be found. Not far from there, to the south of Bellecour, Rue Auguste Comte is the district of antiques, art and decoration with a hundred or more shops that recall the importance of Lyon’s artistic trades. And if you are looking for exotic purchases, the stores in Vieux Lyon offer a superb selection of traditional art and craft objects and textiles from around the world with the perfume of incense in the air. The glass-roofed Part-Dieu retail centre is one of the largest in Europe, with its 260 shops and department stores. Overnight in Lyon

Lyon – Evian

After breakfast, you take the train to Evian – ‘water town’. This train journey takes approximately 3 hours. Nestled between the lake and mountains, Evian benefits from a truly exceptional natural environment. This spa town is internationally renowned for its thermal baths. Here you'll find complete information on Evian's health, well-being and fitness treatments. This is best place to relax and indulge in the Spa activities or the Thermal baths at the hotel. Today is a day to explore the town on your own by either taking a cruise on Lake Geneva or a take a solar catamaran which allows you to discover the town from the lake. Another option is to spend your day at the aquatic centre is located within a 3.5 hectare park at the entrance to town on Lake Geneva which has water slides, swimming pools, water Skiing and a cafeteria. In the evening, you could try your luck at the Evian Casino – ‘Europe's largest thematic casino’ and if you are not into gambling you could spend your time in the Evian restaurant as Evian Casino boasts no less than five thematic restaurants. Evian – Annecy

Post breakfast this morning it’s time for you to make your way to the train station to board the train taking you to Annecy - known as the ‘Savoyard Venice' or ‘ Venice of the Alps’. This train journey takes approximately 2.5 hours. Check in and relax. The town is really quaint and a perfect place to bond and unwind. Walking along the lake and the cobbled streets of the town sure has a charm that is unparalleled. You could also take a cruise on Lake Annecy that rests at the foot of the Alps created 18,000 years ago from thawing glaciers. Overnight in Annecy

Day is free for you to explore the town on your own. Besides the famous Lake Annecy and the River Thiou, Annecy offers nature lovers plenty of beautiful sights including the Semnoz forest, expansive Fins plain, Annecy-le-Vieux hillside and an assortment of mountains. Surround the area are the Veyrier (1,299 metres), the Semnoz (1,699 metres), the Tournette (2,351 metres) and the Parmelan (1,856 metres) mountains. This is a perfect place to take a nature walk.  You could also opt to visit the Le Palais de I’lle or Musée Château d' Annecy is the only really worthwhile museum in town.

Musée Château d'Annecy: The castle was built between the 12th and 16th centuries. It served as the residence of the Counts of Geneva and the Dukes of Genevois-Nemours. The Tour de la Reine (Queen's Tower) is the oldest part of the castle, dating from the 12th century. Its walls are over 4 m (13 ft.) thick. At the bottom of the courtyard, the tower and the Logis Perrière date from the 15th century. Other notable parts of the castle are: the Vieux Logis, the Logis Nemours, and the Logis Neuf. From the castle terrace there is a view over the old town with its narrow streets and decorated roofs. The museum is installed in the Logis Vieux and the Logis Nemours. The observatory is in the Tower and the Logis Perrière.

Le Palais de I’lle: Images of Le Palais de I’lle have become the symbol of Annecy. This dank prison resembles a small chateau surrounded by water. It was constructed in the 17th century and is connected to mainland of Annecy by a bridge.

Annecy – Paris

After a sumptuous breakfast, check out from the hotel and this morning you take a train from Annecy to the Fashion capital - Paris! Check into your hotel and relax awhile. Later in the evening you can experience a relaxing cruise on the River Seine. Overnight in Paris

Following breakfast wake up to breakfast this morning following which it’s time for you to see and explore Paris at your pace armed with the Paris one day Hop On Hop Off pass.  A ticket for you to visit to the Montparnasse Tower is included as it is at one of the stops of the Hop On Hop Off route and the view from here will definitely blow you off your feet! Later in the afternoon spend your time shopping at the famous shopping mall The Galleries Lafayette for the best in haute couture and places that give the word shopping a completely new meaning. Paris

Wake up to a leisurely breakfast this morning. Today we make a visit to Champagne as we cross Paris through the eastern districts and then take the eastern motorway. Half way we make a stop for a break (refreshments are at client's own charge) and arrive in Reims around 10.00 AM. Our visit includes a guided visit of the gothic Reims Cathedral and an orientation tour of the city. We continue with a guided visit of the Mumm Champagne cellars with champagne tasting. Lunch on your own in the centre of Reims. Reims has an excellent selection of cafes and bistrots and offers a typically French setting for lunch. In the afternoon, we drive to Epernay for a guided visit of the Moët and Chandon cellars (or Achille Mercier) and wine tasting. We leave Epernay at 4.00 PM and return to Paris around 6.30 PM. Another day to enjoy this vibrant yet historical city. Wake up to breakfast and the rest of the day is free for you to follow your interests. You could opt for a Full day excursion to the Disneyland Paris or to the famous Versailles or just spend some time at the many stylish cafes along the Champs Elysees. Some of you may want to indulge in a nice, quiet Luncheon cruise along the Seine. The options are plenty and a day is not enough! Overnight in Paris

Depart Paris

Today it’s time to say aurevoir to this marvellous country, as you head to the airport to take your flight home. Hope you have had a great holiday!!
