Arrive Carcassonne

Upon arrival into Paris airport we recommend you take the TGV and head to Carcassonne. (Approximately 5 hrs). Located at the heart of the Toulouse-Montpellier-Barcelona triangle, at the crossroads of two major traffic roads dating back to the most ancient times, from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean, from the Cévennes to the Pyrénées mountain range where the Aude has its source, Carcassonne blooms in the plains of the lower valley, inviting you to walk in and out of its streets. Discover its history, its local cuisine, its wines, or simply enjoy the scenery. From the Bastide Saint-Louis to the medieval Walled City, Carcassonne offers a wealth of monuments to visit and discover!  Upon arrival, take a taxi from the station and make your way to your hotel inside the walled city. Check in and a brief rest later, take a leisurely stroll along the streets on your own and be charmed by the buildings and the people you'll meet along the way. For those wanting Indian food, there are 2 authentic Indian Restaurants right within the walled city! Overnight in Carcassonne.

Carcassonne

The Canal du Midi, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996, has a delightful port full of pleasure cruisers, and the canal itself can be explored by those who love walking and cycling as well as boating. Situated between the port of the Canal du Midi and the towers of the old city, the Bastide Saint Louis (XIIIth century) is the historic name for Carcassonne’s City centre. This is where Carcassonne residents go for shopping and culture. Several times a week a colourful market with local produce enlivens Place Carnot, overlooked by a huge marble fountain.  Stroll around the Bastide Saint Louis and enjoy its churches and Cathedral, museums and galleries as well as its attractive private mansions. A truly well spent day in Carcassonne.

For the afternoon, at 20 minutes from Carcassonne, the region of “Minervois” opens up its arms. Traditional villages and countryside for lovers of life!! You will make a “voyage to the centre of the earth” in one of the biggest European caves, the “Gouffre of Caprespine”. Overnight in Carcassonne

Carcassonne – Toulouse

Following breakfast this morning it’s time to check out and make your way to the train station, to board the train to Toulouse-Matabiau. The journey takes around 45 mins. Upon arrival make your way to the hotel. There are some cities you just can't help falling in love with. Toulouse is one of them. Toulouse – Also known as the City of Rugby is an active bustling city in southwest France, with a taste for celebration that gives away its Catalan roots. The area is also famous for its rugby; The 'Ville Rose' in the department of Haute Garonne draws you in, wins you over and keeps you forever. Capital of the Midi-Pyrénées region, blessed with an outstanding heritage, this modern and active European metropolis draws its Latin temperament and remarkable architecture from its near neighbor, Spain. And when you come to Toulouse, you'll feel the city's buzz too! Time to explore the city with attractions unlike anything else in Europe: the A380 assembly lines, Aeroscopia the aerospace museum, and the Cité de l’Espace. Overnight in Toulouse

Toulouse

We would suggest you to book yourself on an open-topped minibus with panoramic windows: comfortably seated, over the 1 hour 15 minutes of the tour you will see the main sites and historical monuments with a very affordable price at 5 departure timings giving you the panoramic view of the city. The must see in the city are the DonJon Du Capitole, The City hall, Taur Church, Carmelites Chapel, Saint Raymond Musuem, Saint Sernin Basilica, Bernuy Private Mansion. Other include the Pont Neuf, Natre Dame, Chateau Deau, La Grave, Abattoirs Museum, oval-shaped Saint-Pierre Lock and The Canal de Brienne, an active hydro-electrical power plant called EDF Bazacle area and a typical meeting point - the river embankments are the other spots of interest.

You could opt for a boat trip along the Garonne or from the Canal du Midi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. These cruises give you a magnificent panorama of the city, its bridges and parks and gardens.

There is an excellent driverless metro system to help you get around and it offers fabulous regional cuisine, two striking cathedrals, lively street life and a superb, rose-brick Old Town which as the French say is “Pink at dawn, red at noon and mauve at dusk”.

We highly recommend you shopping for violet products as Toulouse is associated with violet. Available in the form of confectionery and beauty products, a visit to Graine de Pastel is a must for the best in beauty care

Toulouse is arguably one of the finest rugby clubs in Europe. Stade Toulousain (the city’s rugby club) is the most successful team in France having won the French Championship a record 19 times. Toulouse play their home games at the Stade Ernest-Wallon, which was built in the late 1980s and was recently renovated. Stade Toulousain is one of the three teams (all sports included) that own its stadium. It has a capacity of 19,500. The stadium however cannot always accommodate all the fans of the Toulouse club. Toulouse – Paris

Following breakfast this morning, we recommend you make your way to the train station to board your train to Paris which is just 5.5 hrs away. Upon arrival make your way to the hotel. Check in and relax. Later in the evening you could opt for a boat cruise along the Seine and take in Paris by night, where all the monuments are lit up and the scene is nothing short of being magical. Overnight in Paris.

Paris

Following breakfast Wake up to breakfast this morning following which it’s time for you to see and explore Paris at your pace armed with the Paris one day Hop On Hop Off pass.  A ticket for you to visit to the Montparnasse Tower is included as it is at one of the stops of the Hop On Hop Off route and the view from here will definitely blow you off your feet! Enroute the Hop on Hop pass a must visit is the Grevin Wax Museum - Discover a legendary site of entertainment and illusion, in the heart of Paris. Be a star for a day, get near famous people and discover new faces at the famous Paris Wax Museum. Continue to spend your time shopping at any of the great shopping malls like the Galeries Lafayette for the best in haute couture and places that give the word shopping a completely new meaning. Overnight in Paris.

 

Paris

A fun filled day for the kids as you are taken to Disneyland Paris which is about an hour away from the city of Paris. Here you get the opportunity to visit the Disneyland Park which is the magic world where you will meet all the Disney characters who live in an endless fairy tale and Walt Disney Studio Park where you go behind the scenes of the movies, cartoons and TV shows. Disneyland Paris has many different attractions for tourists to experience with its top attractions being It’s a Small World, Space Mountain: Mission 2, Big Thunder Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, Buzz Light year Laser Blast and many more. Truly a fun filled day for the families. Return back to Paris in the evening. Overnight in Paris.

Paris – La Baule

Wake up to a leisurely breakfast this morning. Time to check out and catch a train to La Baule which is approximately 3hrs away from Paris. A century-old seaside resort in the Pays de la Loire Region with beautiful villas, casino, luxury hotels and an original mix of old Breton and exclusive seaside culture boasting a 12 kilometer-long sand beach, La Baule has been home to French high society's seaside residences. You can stroll around the market and taste the famous Muscadet White wine.

You can also hop into the Little Train (Petit Train De La Baule) that runs all year round (except from mid-November to mid-December and in January). It follows the 8 kms of the seafront (le remblai).  There are 10 stops including the Casino and Port of Pornichet. Overnight in La Baule

La Baule – Nantes – La Baule

Wake up to a leisurely breakfast this morning. Time to catch a train to Nantes which is 1 hr away. Nantes harbors 1001 assets, its main one being to entice you to take another journey to Nantes! The castle for its ramparts, the "lieu unique" for the mind, the Passage Pommeraye for shopping, the Cigale to  taste, the Cathedral for the tomb, the botanical garden for camellias and magnolias, crossing the Loire to reach Trentemoult, ile  de Nantes for its architecture. Estuaire for his trail of contemporary art. Nantes is known for its Art - Misconceivable - Erwin Wurm, ‘les Anneaux’ (The Rings) by Daniel Buren and many more. The icon of Nantes being The Great Elephant – living in Central Street of the Nefs. When the majestic animal goes out for its walk, it is like architecture in motion departing a steel cathedral. The 50 passengers on board embark on an amazing journey on the Ile de Nantes. Each time the pachyderm goes out, it is a unique spectacle for everyone to enjoy. The Great Elephant makes the connection between the Marine Worlds Carousel and the Warehouses where the workshop and the Machine Gallery, centre of the artistic proposal of the Machines de l’île, are located. Take a train back to La Baule and Overnight in La Baule

La Baule - Saint Nazaire / Guérande – La Baule

Post breakfast from La Baule we recommend you to take a 15 mins train ride to Saint Nazaire and visit the STX France Shipyard. Discover all the facets of its activity and the whole process of shipbuilding, from the steel plate storage area to the outfitting basin. Extremely sophisticated technology and logistics are needed in order to build the cruise ships for which the shipyard is one of the world’s leaders. Spectacular sights lie in store for visitors! Later you can opt to take a 2 hours Cruise "Saint-Nazaire by the Sea". Between the Loire estuary and the Atlantic Ocean, Saint-Nazaire is probably best discovered from “outside”, from the sea. On the very spot where ocean liners used to moor alongside Saint-Nazaire’s quays, inside the former submarine base, Escal’Atlantic offers you a unique experience and the discovery of the world of legendary liners. More than 1.2 million visitors have already discovered this venue which is unique in Europe.

Take a day off to Guérande which is few kilometres away from La Baule. Guérande is a historical walled town near the sea, at the western edge of the Pays de la Loire region, on the edge of the marshes of Grande-Brière. The area around Guerande is best known for the salt flats which have provided the town with several centuries of wealth. The salt drying pans can be seen on many of the river inlets in the region, where the salt is dried and harvested using traditional methods. A must visit is the 'salt museum' whilst your visit to Guerande. Back to La Baule and evening you can definitely try your luck at the Casino in La Baule. Overnight in La Baule

La Baule – Paris

Morning is free at leisure. Head back to Paris which is about 3 hrs away. Later in the afternoon we highly recommend spend time at the many cafes Paris is dotted with. You can opt to do a Cycling tour or Segway tour – a new fun, informative and convenient way to discover most of the main sights of Paris. Overnight in Paris.

Depart Paris

Today it’s time to say au revoir to this marvelous country, as you head to the airport to take your flight home.
